Have you ever been curious about how many state parks there are in the United States? I was curious, and so I did the research to find out the answer for all 50 United States. Alabama
The state of Alabama has 22 State Parks.
Alaska
The state of Alaska has 8 State Park Units. Included in those park units is a vast number of state parks and other state-operated natural resources. Alaska is also the state with the most publicly owned land, which isn’t surprising since Alaska is the biggest U.S. state by far. It is actually 2 times as big as the second-largest state of Texas. It is also one with the wildest and most natural features. You can fit the smallest U.S. state of Rhode Island into Alaska 425 times.

The state of Arizona has 35 State Parks.
Arkansas
The state of Arkansas has 52 state parks. There are no entry fees into Arkansas State Parks according to their Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page.

California needs to have all of these state parks since they carry the title of having the highest population of any other U.S. state.

Nevada
The state of Nevada has 28 State Parks. Nevada is the U.S. state with the second most publicly owned land (Alaska has them beat by a long shot). The amount of publicly owned land in Nevada is quite astonishing because it is a supermajority of the land. In fact, 79.6% of the land in Nevada is held by the federal government according to the Federation of American Scientists (FAS). This leaves very little land for the state government to operate state parks, but they still managed to get 28 of them, so congratulations Nevada.

This small state also has just as many state parks as Wyoming, the 10th largest, yet the least populated U.S. state.
